The mandatory application of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) and the Order of the Minister of Equipment and Transport approving Tanger Med Port’s operating regulations is reflected in the procedures for issuing access permits to the various Port zones.

General principles for issuing and renewing transit permits at Tanger Med Port

Any person or vehicle accessing the port facilities of Tanger Med must have a transit permit issued by the Port Authority.

The allocation of transit permits at Tanger Med Port is defined by the following general principles:

  • The Badge Office’s referencing of the business requesting the transit permit
  • The designation by the company of one or more security correspondents who act on its behalf
  • The security correspondent vouches for the persons for whom the requests are made
  • The processing of applications for Port Transit Permits (permanent and temporary) on the portal dedicated to the management of applications for access permits by the security correspondents
  • Validation of requests by: the managers of the zone and or activities carried out, the Port Authority and the State’s safety and security services
  • Regular users must have a permanent transit permit
  • The temporary transit permit is in principle granted to occasional visitors
  • Invoicing by TMPA of permanent non-exempt traffic permits according to the rates of use of Tanger Med Port tariff booklet
  • Affixing the company logo on the side doors and hood of the vehicle accessing Tanger Med Port
  • Compliance with safety, security, traffic, and parking rules and regulations of  Tanger Med Port

Referral of businesses to the "BFA" access procedure office

Only companies registered with the BFA can apply for transit permits at Tanger Med Port.
To be listed, the company must file the following documents with the BFA:

In addition, for:

  • Carriers, freight forwarders, and commission agents: 01 copy of the approval issued by the competent authority.
  • The company’s subcontractors or service providers: 01 copy of the document justifying the contractual link between the 02 companies “subcontract, purchase order…”.

Access for people

The permanent access badge is issued to any person who regularly accesses  the Port or its facilities. Its duration varies between 3 months and 2 years maximum.

The permanent badge application package includes:

Also, for:

  • Drivers: 01 copy of Driver’s license
  • Clerks, freight forwarders, and registrants: 01 copy of the Customs badge
  • Renewal: returning the expired permanent badge

The request for a Permanent Access Badge can only be made by a registered security officer:

  • Through the portal https://portail.tangermed.ma/, or in case of portal unavailability
  • By submitting the application to the Badge Office with proof of receipt

The temporary access pass “TAP” is issued to any person who does not have a permanent badge and who wishes to access the Port or its facilities  on an occasional basis. . The cumulative annual duration of a TAP is a maximum of thirty days. It cannot be renewed more than four times during the same year.

The request for a provisional access permit can only be made by a referenced security correspondent:

 

The request is processed only after receiving the agreement of the manager of the visited zone.

Some requests may require additional approval from the operations manager. These visits are related to the following activities: Guarding, Shipchandling, Filming, photo or video shooting, media, drone use and diving, etc.

Vehicle access

The permanent badge must be displayed visibly by all vehicles that  regularly access  the Port or its facilities. Its duration varies between 3 months and 2 years maximum.

 

The permanent badge application file includes:

  • 01 original copy of the « Application for Permanent Vehicle Badges» form duly completed and signed
  • 01 copy of the vehicle registration document
  • 01 copy of the main driver’s ID card
  • 01 photo of the vehicle with company logo

In addition, for vehicles driven by several people:

  • 01 copy, on company letterhead, of the list of persons authorized to drive the vehicle

The request for a Permanent Access Badge can only be made by a registered security officer:

  • Through the portal https://portail.tangermed.ma/, or in case of portal unavailability
  • By submitting the application to the Badge Office with proof of receipt
