As part of efforts to improve the logistics performance of incoming vehicle flows for the manufacturer Stellantis, Tanger Med supported the implementation of a large-scale project aimed at increasing rail capacity through the importation of vehicle-carrying railcars.
An initial batch of 40 railcars, equivalent to a complete train, was introduced gradually, with 20 railcars delivered in September 2025, followed by another 20 that were put into service in October.
This first step is an important milestone in strengthening the vehicle terminal’s rail capacity. This will be followed in early 2026 by the importation of 67 additional railcars, bringing the total number of railcars imported to 87.
This strategic project is part of the ongoing drive to improve logistics performance and support competitiveness in the automotive sector. It reflects the ongoing commitment of Tanger Med’s teams, working closely with the manufacturer to ensure optimal execution of rail operations, smooth management of arrivals, and continuous optimization of unloading infrastructure.
