Yang Ming has announced an upgrade to its services with the launch of enhanced versions of Mediterranean Service 2 (MD2) and Gulf Pacific South 2 (GS2).
The Asia–Mediterranean segment of the current MS2 service will now be operated as a standalone service under the new name Mediterranean 2 (MD2). At the same time, the Transpacific segment of the same service will be integrated into the current AG1, relaunched under the name Gulf Pacific South 2 (GS2).
The Mediterranean 2 (MD2) service will offer an optimized loop connecting the main ports of Asia and the Mediterranean, with the following rotation: Busan – Shanghai – Ningbo – Kaohsiung – Shekou – Singapore – Cape of Good Hope – Tanger Med – Valence – Barcelona – Genoa – Fos – Cape of Good Hope – Singapore – Busan.
Transit times to Busan and central China will be significantly improved, while cargo from Laem Chabang and Cai Mep will be transshipped via Singapore, ensuring seamless connectivity between Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean.
